the gifting season is upon us it's that
time of year where we stress ourselves
out trying to work out what is the
perfect gift for the people in our lives
and sometimes we try and work out what
they should get for us so this is a list
of 10 things 10 ideas of coffee gifts
I've aimed to keep these on the cheaper
side of things a couple of them are
expensive most of them are not too much
so let's start with the first
recommendation which is for the person
who has everything the impossible to buy
for I know I have some of those in my
life and I would recommend the embassy
art mug I know it's absurd I said it was
absurd when I reviewed it earlier in the
year and I still feel it's absurd now
but I still use it almost every day I
still really enjoy the experience of
having my coffee be the exact perfect
temperature all the time right through
the whole cup of coffee until I'm
finished whether I get distracted or not
it is very silly it's expensive but it
is great so if you've got the budget and
you have that difficult to buy for a
person I think this is a great call the
next recommendation is one for the
coffee nerd in your life and it's this
coffee a global history by Professor
Jonathan Morris now I've known him for a
number of years now he's an academic
working in coffee almost exclusively now
and this book is like a little machine
kind of information straight to the
brain it is small it is not too
expensive it's 8 pounds on Amazon right
now but it is jam-packed with
information I don't think I've read a
book this information dense and yet
still incredibly readable possibly ever
or certainly in some time it is a great
little book that I recommend highly if
you want a ton of history a ton of
information a ton of background on
coffee this is a great gift now if you
have a collector in your life then I
have an idea for you and it's one of our
things here it's the little espresso cup
from tens hundreds thousands it is a
limited edition run there is one run
ever it's a collaboration with artist
maggie chang and it's a representation
of the colors that coffee goes through
from flower to cup and there's a
beautiful little explanation of all
those symbols on the saucer itself these
are limited they're going quickly if you
want one grab it
there's a link down below now the next
gift is for you if you want to spread
the love right if you want to share the
gift of great coffee with other people
what would I recommend and it's actually
a classic in the field it's the arrow
press you could give the air press goto
but the arrow press the classic I think
is a superb gift I'll tell you why I
have met hundreds if not thousands of
people who don't really care that much
about coffee but have an arrow press and
they all seem to just really enjoy it it
is the least disappointing coffee gift I
think that people ever receive and so if
you're trying to get someone into
brewing good coffee in the mornings good
coffee for themselves in their office in
their home wherever I think this is a
great gift spread your passion and your
addiction to great coffee a little
further give an arrow press continuing
the theme of spreading the love if you
want to give the gift of fresh ground
coffee if you want to give someone a
grinder you've got a little bit of
budget then I would recommend the air
grind by made by knock this is about a
hundred hundred and ten pounds at the
moment I think online it is not cheap
but it is super well built really nice
to use really good results there are
better fancier more expensive hang
grounders but I think that the price
value quality thing here is just right
fits inside narrow press it's a good
love grinder I would recommend it and
now the gift that is not really for you
but it's really for me and you know
we've all been guilty of that gift it's
okay if you're gonna do that though I
would say give a copy subscription give
a gift that you can share a little bit
I'm not gonna recommend any particular
coffee subscriptions because there are
way too many and I haven't tried most of
them and I have a bias here in my own
but six months twelve months give
someone a year of a really great coffee
that is an incredible gift made all the
better if you happen to be sharing it
with them I'm saying now what to give
the person who's just getting into
coffee I'm going to be a little biased
here and I'm gonna say give them the
world outlets of coffee look I know I
wrote this and that makes this a deeply
biased recommendation but I tried to
write it for people who are at that
stage in their coffee journey it might
be that they just started a job in
coffee and they're really
loving it or it might be that they just
started drinking really great coffee at
home and they're loving it
either way this book is there to kind of
fan the flames of that initial passion
but also be a kind of guidebook to make
sense of this big wide huge crazy
complex world of specialty coffee
there's so much there that it can be
overwhelming and this is designed in
many ways to take that pain away and
make it easy and fun and approachable so
I hope you understand me recommending
the book now for these last three
recommendations these are going to
follow under the category of stocking
stuffers little gifts maybe something
even for a Secret Santa if you take part
in one of those things to so3 cheap
wonderful little gifts that I would
recommend firstly it's this it's a
cupping spoon it's the rainbow Big
Dipper from MSU so now a cupping spoon
makes you feel fancy and it makes you
feel professional and it makes you feel
good and when it looks this good well
everyone will be jealous of you and no
one can claim to have picked it up by
mistake it will be clearly yours I think
the finish on this is really cool I
think it's a beautiful spoon it's not so
expensive it's a really great gift my
next recommendation is this it's a cheap
set of digital scales now these are down
to like eight pounds on Amazon right now
they're super cheap and if you make
coffee at home they're essential right
they don't do anything fancy they're
just way to point one of a gram if
you're making espresso if you're
weighing ground coffee if you're making
a pour-over they're super useful for
everything and they're a great little
gift though make sure to explain it
because on its own it's probably a
little bit confusing and last but not
least I'm going to do a little self
recommendation again as a little
stocking stuffer I think the coffee
playing cards are a great little gift we
worked with a couple of artists on this
and they did an amazing job and we have
the King as a producer we have the Queen
as a roaster we have the Jack as a
barista and this is a special Joker card
that is particularly beautiful - we
really love these they're a great gift
they don't even have to be a coffee
lover to enjoy a beautiful set of
playing cards they're really nicely made
they're enjoyable to shuffle deal with
ante to play card games with you liked
them I hope you enjoy them but let me
know your thoughts let me know what
appeals out of this list let me know if
you have a great little find a great
little gift that you want to share with
other people leave a comment down below
