this is my
quick review of golconda meanest coffee
beans this was a coffee that was kindly
sent to me by viewer medicine and he's
got a youtube channel and if anyone's
interested I'll leave a link below to
his youtube channel II sometimes reviews
coffees amongst other things so these
are I think they were bought in a sort
of Turkish shop and I think the sort of
aim for the German market from what I
can find out about them is there's very
little information online about this
coffee and they don't look to be the
best air quality if I'm honest take a
quick look at the beans very small in
size not the best looking beans can well
the only other raw beans that I've tried
with the wonderful Jamaican Blue
Mountain
these compared to them there's no sort
of comparison these are very sort of
London's their sort of shapes and sizes
to these beans so and the aroma it's
sort of like grass but I also got that
from the Jamaican Blue Mountain before
they were roasted it's got quite a
strong antiseptic sort of smell to it
sort of like clove overload and which
I'm really hoping goes away at some
points and doesn't transfer to the taste
and well yeah not the best looking beans
quality wise
I've got a few little examples here to
show exactly what I mean and as you can
see some of the beans are black some of
some are still inside the sort of cherry
these are ones that look like they're
being eaten by pests and I've got a sort
of like green green sort of look to them
maybe some sort of fungus or I don't
know but as I say not the best looking
beans quality wise you've got that the
black beans there as well yeah you can
see that there the green on that being
there well yeah that's just a sort of
example of some of their beans that I
pulled out of the bag so let's take a
quick look after the beans after they
being roasted and the roasting process
quite a lot of chaff yeah an amazing
amount of chuffed came off these beans
compared to the Jamaican Blue Mountain
whichever Bennett got virtually no
chuffing off then when I roasted them or
tones of smoke as well which didn't get
very much off when I roasted the
Jamaican Blue Mountain or yeah I chose
to roast these ones in the oven and
maybe I didn't get the best results from
doing it that way so maybe I'll go back
to doing it in the pan because I seem to
get a bit more consistent sort of ghost
doing it that way some of the beans look
a bit burns bought other showed you this
well some of them were black before they
actually roasted them so maybe they're
not actually burns it was just beings
that were black to start off with them
once and yet I had to roast them for
quite a while as well I don't know
whether I didn't get the oven quite hot
enough for I think Logsdon ended up
being about sort of 25 to 30 minutes
there in the end
on ya after box then the enrollment of
the beans it isn't too bad it's sweet
and a Fe with a strange sort of meaty
hint for want of a better word the
antiseptic hint seems to have eased off
a little bit as well or yeah as you can
see quite a there's quite a lot of chuff
still actually on these beans took off a
ridiculous amount on some of them is
still covered in the chuff there I'll
just quickly show you the ground coffee
there we go
sort of orangey brown color to it and
when ground it's a lot more vibrance and
slightly pungent it's not quite like any
coffee I've review before it's a strange
aroma its Fe and has floral hints it's
quite spicy too and has a biscuit si
side to it but there's something about
it I don't know I just don't like him
and even though it definitely didn't
over roast the beans I could be to blame
for this boy it has a sort of kind of
cut gunpowder charge hint to it or
that's me being hypercritical as I say
maybe that might be dancing me over
roasting the beans but I don't think he
over roasted them I hope I'm wrong and
this is gonna be good coffee but I
suddenly have my doubts from the
evidence presented so far and so yeah
just get that to focus in yeah that's
the ground coffee but yeah as I say I
have me doubts about this being an iced
coffee and I've got quite a lot of it as
well to get through so I haven't
actually tasted it yet so what I'm going
to be doing is I'm going to be filming
the second part of this in a few days
when about chance to try these beans out
so yeah I'm gonna be trying about
hopefully the better than I'm expecting
so I've had the chance to try it out and
taste-wise this really isn't to my taste
that's all this coffee it's quite up
thought it was medicine who sent this to
me because it's got a very strong
medicinal clove almost antiseptic taste
to it
the first tribe was ominous with that
strong clove hints coming back with a
vengeance in the taste I could only
drink a mouthful before sipping the rest
down the sink and I was fun full up
medicine sent me that Franken all honest
coffee because that went straight in the
grinder after therefore for a cleanup
obviously my partner tried the cup and
said it tasted a bit like black currants
and cardboard and she agreed with me
about the antiseptic white taste maybe
it's a cultural thing with this type of
coffee and it's popular in certain
regions in the world but in my opinion
it is pretty awful but I'm not gonna I'm
not prepared to give up on it yet and
I'll give it one more try and see if I
feel any difference about it so yeah so
far I'm not impressed at all with this
coffee if they just really the lowest
quality in my opinion so yeah the next
time you see that me I'll be probably
drinking a cup and hopefully as I say
I'll think a bit more of this coffee and
the second time a time so I finally
bucked up the courage to give this one a
second shy here really not being looking
forward to this because as I say I just
found it so unappealing and the first
time I saw Heidi and I say maybe it's a
cultural thing and this is
to type a coffee are people like and
search it certain regions of the globe
but this isn't a coffee for me one thing
that I will say is maybe this is the
type of coffee that is over roasted and
sold as an Italian sort of blended
worden Italian roast because to me it
just tastes very strange very sort of
antiseptic like that's the only way I
can describe it really it's a very
strange on say chemical but it is sort
of antiseptic edging on chemical sort of
taste so let's give this one a quick try
now actually the taste isn't as bad as
the smell of the coffee I'm quite
surprised actually it's not as bothers
I've finished the experience when I
first experienced I think that's best
copper made I made a double espresso
where this one's a single but I'm still
sticking to that sort of suggestion that
this is a coffee that is really over
roasted and then is may be sold on as a
Italian blend or Italian roasted coffee
but yeah it's not too bad
the taste the smell really does put it
off but the taste isn't to you about
it's really chocolaty really chocolatey
and smooth absolutely no bitterness
there may be a slight acidity but yeah
I'm quite surprised there now if I'm
honest I really will not be able to
drink the rest of these are of God it
was a nine norms of glambag what
medicine sent me and I'm sorry the
medicine for doing this because as I say
I cannot honestly drink this coffee it's
just not a coffee for me
and I've got sort of full jarful about
the quit look online and it sees that
it's okay to give to bed
so all I'm thinking is I'm gonna put
this in a bird feeder than the garden I
think laughs them wasting it and
throwing it in the bin I'll see if the
birds get any enjoyment from it even
though I didn't so as I say it's not a
coffee for me if it was honest I'd give
it a sort of 1.5 maybe one point seven
five out of five I'm as I say maybe it
might be a little bit better if it's
over roasted I didn't over roast this
mmm these so maybe a darker roast may
make it a bit more palatable so yeah I'd
really love to hear from anyone who has
tried this coffee and yeah how you go
there how dark you rose there what do
you think that is coffee
quick review of golconda meanest coffee
