This tutorial will guide you through the descaling process of your Nespresso Essenza Plus machine. Please note the process takes approximately 15 minutes and the descaling solution can be harmful. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and surfaces. Your machine will indicate you when descaling is necessary with the descaling alert LED at the back of the machine which will blink in ready mode. For any additional questions you may have regarding descaling, please contact Nespresso. First, lift and close the lever to eject the capsule into the used capsule container. Then empty the drip tray, drip base and the used capsule container. Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water up to the half level, which corresponds to approximatively 0.5 L. Pour one Nespresso descaling liquid sachet
into the water tank. Place a container under the coffee outlet with a minimum volume of 1 L. While the machine is turned ON, press the Espresso, Lungo and hot water buttons for 5 seconds to enter the descaling mode. All three LEDs will blink. The descaling alert will remain ON during the entire descaling process. You may choose to exit the descaling mode at this stage. To do so, press either the Espresso or Lungo button. If you choose to continue the descaling process, press the Hot water button wait until the water tank is empty. And rinse the water tank.
Fill it with fresh drinking water up to the maximum level. Place again a container under the coffee outlet with a minimum volume of 1 L and press the Hot water button. Wait until the water tank is empty. Rinse the water tank
and fill it again with fresh drinking water up to the maximum level. Place a container under the coffee outlet
with a minimum volume of 1 L and press the Hot water button to start the second rinsing cycle. When the second rinsing cycle has finished, your machine will shut off automatically.
